| Zoo magazine, with help from Scalextric, claims to have set a new record for the worlds longest slot car track - 1.10557 kilometers or 3,627.20 feet. The record still needs to be ratified by the Guiness Book of Records. The previous record was 2,550 feet. | ||

Well, as
the old saying goes: Never check a good story...
The circuit above may be the world's longest Scalextric track, and also quoted by Zoo Magazine as such (and maybe also noted by Guinness). But it's not at all the world's longest slot car track. That title goes to Ninco with an indoor track measuring no less than 2.250 kilometers or 7,381.89 feet. More than twice the Scalextric circuit... The Ninco circuit was built up mid-june in a sports hall in Barcelona and featured 5 235 pieces of track, two Mosler 900 cars in red and white livery (one 1/1 & one 1/32), a lady driver, and a lap time around seven minutes (average speed 12 mph). |
