2015 RTR Nationals
This year saw a return to the original venue in Napier after low numbers in Wellington where there is no NZSCA RTR racing.
Numbers were up to an initial 17 but in the end 14 actually chose to race, which allowed for a relaxed but still satisfying meet for all 5 classes.
Good to see new racers, the old faces and many out of town drivers making the huge effort to come and race. Also a new thing was Mark Burgess's SlotRaceShop providing generous "Goody bags" to all entrants. Though local racer participation was not as high as in the past, they were there to help run the event and that made it the most pleasant events for me as a racer I can recall! Thanks guys!
Results were dominated by many of the metal racers using borrowed cars, but the winners were RTR racers.
It is hoped that the return to Napier will see a more consistent turnout with a revisit of venue should numbers continue to grow.
We urge those that do RTR racing to come and join us next year. It is far from a serious meet, and Napier is proving a destination many racers enjoy for reasons other than slot cars!
